Student Life

Clubs and Activities

Every term, students explore new activities that enable them to discover and develop their own interests. Because we use a creative approach to teaching, it is not uncommon to integrate music, art, literature, history, science, math and foreign language with other subjects. For instance, the sixth grade's study of the Middle Ages culminates in Medieval Night, when students, dressed in period costumes, reenact an authentic feast for their parents and teachers.  Our seventh graders studying foreign language get to experience a three-day, multicultural trip to Quebec City and Montreal.

Students are also offered option classes each term, allowing them to pursue art, crafts, computers, sports, science, nature, and philosophy. During winter options, Upper School students spend each Wednesday afternoon skiing at Kissing Bridge or involved in other off-campus activities. They can participate in band, chorus, and two annual theater productions performed in our state-of-the-art Johnston Theatre.

We also foster cooperation, camaraderie, and team spirit with a well-developed interscholastic sports program that provides students with ample opportunity to enjoy a meaningful athletic experience.

Most importantly, we are devoted to leading our students through growth and discovery. We expect much of our children, but we provide the security and support students need to take risks - to develop confidence and to achieve success in so many areas that will affect them in later life.
