In keeping our commitment to enable our students to “develop confidence in themselves, demonstrate respect for others, and assume responsibility for their own actions” Elmwood Franklin believes that community service is essential part of educating the “whole child.” Students participate in a variety of service projects that are student-driven and reflective of the current interests of our student body and the current needs of our community-at-large. Past service projects have included:
donation of 400 books to the Literacy Volunteers of Buffalo and
Thanksgiving food drive to benefit the Food Bank of WNY and the Ronald McDonald House of Buffalo
winter clothing drive to benefit the International Institute’s refugee program
Our students follow the lead of our dedicated faculty and staff, as well as our parent base, who are consistently involved in a variety of volunteer efforts across our community. At Elmwood Franklin, community service is not a requirement but a way of life.
