by Judy Jurnack and Katie Holmberg Tuesday afternoon the 1st grade classes had special visitors from the Buffalo Zoo. When it's too cold to go to the zoo, bring the zoo to school! We met Timmy the box turtle, Flappy the vampire bat, and Peter the bunny. ![]() Flappy had to stay in his cage. We learned that vampire bats drink blood and nothing else in their diets. Those type of animals are called sanguivores. What a special treat to welcome these animals friends to school on a chilly, snowy afternoon. Many thanks to Scott Lawson for arranging this opportunity for our first graders!
