by Judy Jurnack and Katie Holmberg The first graders have been working on coding with Mrs. Colpoys. They began this project by programming BeeBots to move around a grid. One day they even put up road blocks to impede the BeeBot's progress. Recently, first graders have begun working on a site called code.org. Here they are writing computer programs to move the figure of a bird to the figure of a pig. When they mastered that assignment, students were taught how to debug a program that would not work. This week, to shorten the code, the repeat function was introduced. First graders are getting ready for their futures in this technological world!
