Admissions Open House
Thursday, February 5 at 8:45 a.m.

Standardized tests give a narrow view of education. At Elmwood Franklin School, we take a broader view that includes

personal attention and support an emphasis on creative thinking  character education  service learning  outdoor education and travel  gym every day  theater  studio art  public speaking  music, chorus, and band  frequent field trips  foreign language instruction starting in kindergarten  a technology-rich environment  and much, much more.

We invite you to join us for our Open House on Thursday, February 5 at 8:45 a.m.—walk our halls, step inside our classrooms, browse our students’ work, and say hello to our teachers and students—and understand for yourself what makes Elmwood Franklin a school far beyond standard.

The idea behind IDEA (short for Individually Determined Exploration Area) is to give the eighth grade students an opportunity to use the reading, writing, and research skills they've gained in their years at EFS and apply them to a creative, interdisciplinary, long-term inquiry project.

As they presented their projects to teachers, classmates, and parents, our eighth graders proved to themselves and the school community just how much they can do and discover.
