Tuition & Value

An Education Is Forever
An Elmwood Franklin School education is an investment in your child and his or her future. Our pre-school through eighth grade configuration allows us to focus on the unique needs of children ages 3-14.

Elmwood Franklin’s tuition ranges from $15,750 to $20,975, but the actual cost of educating an Elmwood Franklin student is on average $2,000-$3,000 more per student. To bridge this gap, we depend on the generous financial support of our alumni, current parents and parents of alumni, grandparents, faculty and staff, and other friends of the school.

All-Inclusive Tuition
The Elmwood Franklin tuition is a graduated fee structure that is all inclusive. This means there are no additional charges for technology, books and supplies, computers and science labs, outdoor education, local special events and field trips, individual and class pictures, and professional-quality yearbooks. Nutritious lunches and snacks are also included in the tuition. These expenses, at some schools, could total as much as $3,500 per year.

Why Is Tuition What It Is?
We are committed to attracting and retaining certified and highly committed faculty who understand the developmental needs of the children they teach. Teachers are selected for their knowledge of a subject and their ability to teach it.

We are committed to supporting our educational program with extensive resources and well-maintained, well-equipped facilities.

We are committed to enhancing each student’s learning experience with in-class and out-of-class activities as well as extracurricular offerings including athletics and the arts.

We are committed to keeping class sizes small and providing a safe environment in which your child can explore ideas and feelings, and the guidance that ensures your child won’t get lost while exploring.

We are committed to serving your needs as a parent, providing services to make your life a little less complicated. These services include options for early arrival and extended day child care.

We are committed to offering an enriched program that includes:
  • an accelerated academic curriculum
  • character education and service learning
  • 3 foreign language options starting in kindergarten
  • robotics and coding instruction starting in first grade
  • 18 interscholastic teams of five different sports
  • band or chorus instruction starting in fourth grade
  • overnight outdoor education trips
  • gym and recess every day
  • frequent field trips

Financial Aid
Elmwood Franklin School is committed to enrolling bright and eager students who will actively participate in our accelerated, enriched academic program, regardless of race, religion, national origin, or socioeconomic status. No family should refrain from applying to EFS solely because of financial considerations. Within the limits of the school’s financial resources, EFS seeks to assist those families with demonstrated financial needs. Tuition assistance recipients represent a cross-section of our student body and the community in which we live. While no student receives full tuition assistance, EFS remains committed to providing financial help to families of qualified students who otherwise could not attend our school.

How to Apply for
Financial Aid

Elmwood Franklin School uses School and Student Services (SSS) to process financial aid applications. SSS is a service of the National Association of Independent Schools. Based on the financial information you provide, SSS gives us an estimated amount your family can contribute to educational expenses. This helps us make fair and objective financial aid decisions.

COMPLETE THE PARENTS’ FINANCIAL STATEMENT (PFS) ONLINE:
  • Go to sssbynais.org/parents.
  • Create your PFS Online account with your e-mail address and a password.
  • Begin a PFS for Academic Year 2018-19. You can log out of the PFS Online at any time, then return later to complete it. You only have to complete one PFS even if you have several children applying to our school.
  • Our school code is 2980.
  • After you have pressed submit, you’ll be brought to a payment screen. The fee of $49 is nonrefundable.
  • After you submit your PFS, you’ll have access on the PFS Online to a section called “My Documents.” You can upload the additional documents we require there.
  • If you have questions with the online PFS, contact the SSS Customer Service Center at (800) 344-8328 or sss@nais.org.
Note: Your PFS, 2017 federal income tax return, and W-2 statements must be submitted to SSS. Computations based on the PFS may be adjusted to reflect figures shown on your 2017 tax return.

If your 2017 tax return is not complete when you submit your application, you may submit your 2016 tax return. This will generate an estimated financial aid award. An estimated financial aid award will not be credited to a student’s account until the receipt of the 2017 tax return and W-2 statements to confirm eligibility. Only a confirmed award will be credited to a student’s account. Families who do not submit their 2017 tax return and W-2 statements are at risk of losing their estimated aid package.

Financial aid funds are limited and are awarded on a funds-available basis. It is imperative that families apply for financial aid in a timely manner.

For questions about our tuition assistance program, please contact Stephanie Katzman at at 877-5035 or admissions@elmwoodfranklin.org.
