Horizons Afterschool Program
The Horizons afterschool program is available on all days Elmwood Franklin is in session, providing childcare for families from dismissal until 5:45 p.m. The schedule includes activities and crafts planned by Horizons staff, Homework Lab open to students in grades 1-8, outside play or gym time, and a daily snack. Please note that Horizons ends promptly at 5:45 p.m.
Parents, guardians, and designated adults will pick students up from Horizons from the main entrance. Please ring the bell to enter and check out with the staff member at the front desk.
Horizons Pre-Registration
Families can sign up for the year, in advance, in September, or utilize the service as needed from day to day. Families who choose to register in advance will receive up to a 30% discount from the daily drop-in rates. Your child will also receive a 50% discount on the After School Club offerings if you choose the 5:45 pick-up option.
For families not registered for Horizons needing afterschool care, we ask that you bring a payment method for pick-up (cash, credit, or check). When you pick up your child, we will collect payment for that day.
Reservations
Students who are registered may use Horizons every day school is in session. If your child is not going to Horizons, please be sure your child's homeroom teacher knows they will be picked up at regular dismissal.
Families not registered who need childcare for the day should notify their homeroom teacher, email me at [email protected], or call 716-877-5035 to make arrangements. Please make sure homeroom teachers are always aware of dismissal plans.
After School Clubs
After School Clubs are in addition to our Horizons programming. Families can choose from a variety of fun and enriching options led by EFS teachers.

- Each club will meet one day per week per trimester from 3:30-4:30 p.m.
- The cost per student is $250 per club per trimester.
- Students can sign up for more than one club.
- Students registered for the 5:45 p.m. pick-up Horizons program will receive a 50% discount on all After School Club offerings.
- Families will receive an invoice after signing up for an offering, and payment must be received before the club starts.
