Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Mission Statement
One of the core tenets of Elmwood Franklin School’s mission is the school’s commitment to building an inclusive school community that reflects and values diversity. This commitment is not a new initiative for EFS, but we continue forward in this work with a more intentional focus. We believe this helps provide the necessary depth to our overall academic and social-emotional curriculum and helps give students the critical thinking skills essential to thrive in and beyond their time at Elmwood Franklin.

In support of this goal and commitment, EFS welcomes, celebrates, and affirms all people representing all forms of diversity.

  • We value the diverse experiences our families bring to our school community and work to provide a space where all voices can be heard.
  • We listen for understanding and shared growth.
  • We believe that teaching students how to understand differences and how to navigate a diverse world are essential skills.
  • We welcome ideas and thoughts as we work to build a vibrant, equitable, inclusive, and diverse school culture in which everyone in our community feels respected and cared for.
