Dress Code Guidelines
The purpose of the Elmwood Franklin School dress code is to encourage students to dress in a manner that is appropriate for school and respectful of their learning environment, their teachers, their peers, and themselves. The way our students dress should demonstrate pride in our school and reflect our core values.
Adapted Dress Code for 2021-2022
While students are following COVID guidelines, we will have a modified dress code that is better suited to the needs of our students, which includes the expanded use of our outdoor spaces as classroom environments and participation in PE classes without changing into gym clothes. Our goal is for students to be comfortable during the school day while still demonstrating respect for themselves, their peers, and their school.
Until COVID-19 restrictions are lifted in schools, our dress code will include the
following items in addition to our standard dress code (below):
Face masks are to be worn during the school day and as students enter and exit the building. Masks should be clean and well-fitted and should be free of text and slogans. Prints are allowed.
Students will not be permitted to wear hats or hoods during instructional time.
All clothing should be clean, in good repair, and free of holes, graphics, and text. Shoulders and midriffs should be covered. Logos that can be covered by one hand are permitted.
