​Teaching Staff Positions
Middle School Math Teacher
Full-Time, 2026-27 School Year
Elmwood Franklin School seeks a full-time middle school math teacher for the 2026-27 school year. 

QUALIFICATIONS
  • A bachelor’s degree in elementary education, middle school education, and/or mathematics is required
  • New York State teaching certification or equivalent
  • A minimum of three years of classroom experience is preferred
  • Commitment to equity and inclusion

SKILLS
  • Strong communication skills required, both verbal and written
  • The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and also function independently
  • Uses data to make informed decisions about curriculum, differentiation, and instruction
  • Able to provide accommodations and modifications outlined in students’ learning plans
  • Enthusiasm for working with early adolescents
  • Proactive communication and engagement with families at EFS

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Teach four or five sections of math for students in grades five through eight
  • Serve as an advisor for a group of eighth-grade students
  • Proctor study halls and provide math support to students as needed during the school day
  • Fulfill other faculty duties as outlined in the Faculty Handbook, including lunchroom supervision, attending faculty meetings, and supervising student events.

COMPENSATION
  • The salary for this position will be determined by the successful candidate's teaching experience and will range from $ 35k to $70k.

​Elementary School Teacher (Kindergarten–Grade 3)
Full-Time, 2026-27 School Year
Elmwood Franklin School seeks a dynamic, student-centered Elementary School Teacher. The successful candidate will be assigned to Kindergarten, Grade 1, Grade 2, or Grade 3, based on the school's needs and the candidate's strengths and experience. Regardless of grade level, the successful candidate will foster a joyful, inclusive, and academically challenging classroom where every child is known, valued, and inspired to grow.

A bachelor's degree in elementary education or a related field is required; a master's degree and classroom experience are preferred. A commitment to equity, inclusion, and continuous professional growth is essential.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities and skills:
  • A passion for teaching young children and cultivating a positive, engaging classroom community
  • Strong knowledge of child development and best practices in elementary education
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and colleagues
  • Experience designing differentiated instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Commitment to fostering a culturally responsive and inclusive learning environment
  • Strong classroom management skills that promote independence, responsibility, and belonging
  • Experience using assessment data to inform instruction and support student growth
  • Familiarity with multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) and differentiated instruction
  • Knowledge of literacy and mathematics best practices in the elementary grades
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to contribute to the broader school community

The Elementary School Teacher will be responsible for:
  • Planning and delivering engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction aligned with the school's curriculum and mission
  • Creating a classroom culture that promotes curiosity, creativity, critical thinking, and a love of learning
  • Differentiating instruction to support the academic, social-emotional, and developmental needs of all learners
  • Assessing student learning through a variety of formative and summative measures and using data to guide instructional decisions
  • Collaborating with grade-level teammates, specialists, interventionists, and school leaders to support student success
  • Developing and implementing accommodations and instructional supports for students with learning plans, in partnership with the Student Support Team
  • Maintaining regular, proactive communication with families regarding student progress and classroom life
  • Participating actively in professional learning, faculty meetings, and school events
  • Contributing positively to the life of the school through collaboration, innovation, and a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Supporting the social-emotional development and well-being of every child while fostering an inclusive classroom community

Compensation

  • The salary for this position will be determined by the successful candidate's teaching experience and will range from $ 39k to $69k.
